All of this brainstorming and ideas about worship team training has really lead me to this main subject. A subject that I call the LCG foundation. The LCG who? No it’s not a phone service provider charity for the poor. They are irrefutable laws for your worship team that cannot be broken. A foundation is generally a concrete slab that holds the home up so it won’t buckle and fall. If the foundation is cracked then the home will crack. So don’t be crackheads.=)
Paul talks about the foundation of Jesus Christ in a letter to the Corinthians. Read it and weep. Jk
Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ. Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.
(1 Corinthians 3:10-15 NLT)
Whoa, These are some deep words. In a worship band I’ve uncovered the foundation. All these principles are not hard to learn but hard to apply if you’ve never heard of them.
I have written about these in past comic blogs. Here are the links to those blogs and learn what LCG is. I will post the comics here so you can enjoy them.
There you have it, the LCG foundation. Now that you are aware of “What” it is, the next step is the “How”, then start taking action. We live in a world full of “know it all’s”, but no “do it all’s”. We can go to school, seminars, watch videos, read books, etc and gain so much knowledge on a certain topic but if we take no action it’s shelved knowledge. It’s no good in your head unless its applied to yourself or team. So, are you a “know it all” or a “do it all”? That’s the real question.
As always thanks for reading and don’t hesitate to post any comments or ideas in the comment section below. Sign up below and receive weekly comics.
